My client is a leading global Corporate Governance Recruitment specialist with offices across Asia, EMEA and North America. They are looking for a Recruitment Consultant to join their hugely successful Compliance Investment Management desk in their well-established Risk and Compliance team.
This is a very busy desk with lots of potential to bill in excess of £200k. The role will focus on buy side clients (this includes asset managers, hedge funds, private equity, wealth management etc.) in the regulatory compliance space and will work closely with the Head of Division who has been recruiting in this market since 2010. You will be given every role that comes in with a fee under £25,000 (either phoned in or proactively gained by the Divisional Head) as well as any role up to any value gained through personal, proactive business development. The team has high achievers including the highest UK 2017 biller (c£350,000) and will work on many exclusive mandates. The key is maintaining a balance between big ticket work and smaller fees to maintain a consistent flow of fees.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working on a 360 desk. The ability to manage existing relationships as well as an appetite to business develop and grow something are the key characteristics needed. You don’t need to have worked within compliance or with buy side firms but ideally will be experienced in recruiting for financial services clients in a professional discipline or central function. An appreciation of compliance, financial crime, risk, audit or legal will be useful but the quality of the hire is far more important. The desk is lively and the Consultants are all driven so a similar mind-set will be vital for anyone to succeed.
