Here, we speak to Oliver Calimer who assisted a candidate in making a successful move into the Business and Technology Change sector.
Oliver, tell us about your candidate…
My candidate was recruitment consultant with around a year’s experience who moved to the UK from Poland after completing her degree. She was looking to change sector from a high-volume, low-margin manufacturing recruitment marketplace into a more technical and challenging sector.
Who was your client?
My client specialises in the practical delivery of business and technology change recruitment into the financial services, HR, technology, commerce sectors. They’ve previously hired candidates with a similar background who appeared to be a huge success for the business.
How did you approach the process?
After the initial discussion with the candidate, I advised her to consider opportunities across a varied client base. She was new to the market and her skill set was relevant for several clients working in different sectors.
What happened next?
Our varied client base allowed my candidate to sample the opportunities that the market had to offer. She interviewed with clients in Change Management, Technology, Finance and others. I advised her to take an opportunity in an agency that supply a higher margin, technical candidates to a client operating in a fast-paced change management market.
What was the outcome?
After meeting the stakeholders throughout a swift process, my candidate was offered the opportunity to join our client as a Delivery Consultant. The client were extremely pleased with how quickly and smoothly the process went from start to finish – the entire process from introduction to placement took just 12 days!

Sure, I regularly check in with them to make sure everything is still going smoothly and offer advice if ever needed. I’m happy that my candidate is now a thriving member of the client’s team and looking to progress further within the company.
